SYSTEM COMPONENTS
The DAB Contentserver Combines The Following Funtionalities :

The system is typical located in the studio, in a playout center or at the transmitter site, with full remote control available for administration and data provision. The remote web interface featuring in-place-editing technology for quick and convenient system configuration and monitoring can be accessed through a web browser.
    
DAB Audio Encoder
 
It provides real-time audio encoding for multiple MPEG Audio Layer-2 (DAB classic), DAB+, and DMB audio streams simultaneously – including the DAB Surround option, on-demand SX Pro stereo-to-surround enhancement, and PAD data service insertion. Supported audio content formats include digital or analog live audio; mp3, wav and play list files; and Livewire audio over IP networks. Audio level monitoring is available via web browser.

Clipping and silence detection, audio amplification and mp3 normalization make for a sophisticated audio management set-up.
Multimedia and Data Service Management

This system component supports all standardized as well as broadcaster-specific data applications. It includes data collection, import, merging, checking, conversion, processing, and broadcast encoding.

The range of standardized DAB applications includes Dynamic Labels (with UTF-8 encoding and control commands), Journaline ® text information service, EPG, Slideshow and TPEG/TMC. Open interfaces enable the transmission of any custom-tailored and broadcaster-specific application at various protocol levels, including transparent file transmission via MOT, IP insertion, TDC, FIDC, sub-channel insertion, etc.

Versatile data import interfaces and automation features allow for a smooth integration into production environments. This list of import features includes RSS import, ftp upload, ftp/http mirroring, web interface, UECP, and real-time socket interface, with optional secured data provision (ftps, https, etc.). DAB enhanced packet mode is supported.
DMB Gateway

Externally encoded DMB-compliant MPEG-TS audio and video streams can be inserted into the DAB multiplex. The supported import methods comprise preencoded files, and live streams via TCP/IP and UDP/IP unicast or multicast.
DAB Ensemble Multiplex Generator

The ensemble multiplexer component manages the extensive DAB signaling capabilities and generates the full digital DAB ensemble multiplex. This ETI output signal is provided via standard EDI/DCP.

The supported signaling features comprise ensemble and service labels with all worldwide used characters, country and time information, alternative frequency signaling, TII and region definitions, and all announcement types.

The generated output signal can be delivered to any number of DAB modulators at various transmitter sites in parallel with full SFN (single frequency network) support. The content of the output signal may be live monitored through the web interface. Recording of the ETI multiplex signal and each individual sub-channel to file is provided. An unlimited number of multiplex configurations can be defined in parallel. The automatic broadcast scheduling feature allows for manual or scheduled activation of multiplex configurations, and dynamic reconfigurations based on a global broadcast calendar and weekly schedules. To ensure safe and reliable operation, the DAB ContentServer R5 includes a professional system firewall and continuous self-monitoring. The system status is signaled through email report system, console output, web interface, relay card and SNMP.
DAB RECEIVER KIT

The DAB Receiver Kit is a fully validated DAB/DAB+/T-DMB solution for the automotive and consumer market.
This innovative software radio approach allows terminal manufacturers to efficiently enhance their radio platform with the full range of DAB/DAB+/T-DMB feature set. It is a platform independent fixed point C-code ready for multiple baseband and service layer instances. Fully compliant with the ETSI EN 300 401, the DAB Receiver Kit is able to decode a full DAB ensemble or only a subset to save computing power. With its flexible data interface, it can be easily combined with external applications
