THE COMPLETE FUNCTIONALITY OF DRM STANDARDS AT YOUR FINGERTIPS

The DRM ContentServer R5 lets you explore and use the complete set of options offered by the DRM standards family.
GREEN & EFFICIENT

The DRMContentServer R5 combines audio encoding, data service management and ensemble multiplex generation in one box. As a result, the system brings valuable savings in terms of rack spaces, energy costs and maintenance time and effort. Easy redundancy can be ensured by simply running a second unit in stand-by mode.
KEEP YOU ON AIR – AT ALL TIMES

The system’s exceptional reliability has been proven time and time again during the last decade through widespread use by broadcasters worldwide.

SYSTEM COMPONENTS
THE DRM CONTENTSERVER COMBINES THE FOLLOWING
FUNCTIONALITIES :

- DRM AUDIO ENCODER
- MULITMEDIA AND DATA SERVICE MANAGEMENT
- DRM MULTIPLEXER GENERATOR

The system is typical located in the studio, in a playout center or at the transmitter site, with full remote control available for administration and data provision.
The remote web interface featuring in-place-editing technology for quick and convenient system configuration and monitoring can be accessed through a web browser.
DRM Audio Encoder

It provides real-time HE-AAC v2, CELP and HVXC audio encoding for up to 4 audio streams simultaneously, including the DRM Surround Sound option and on-demand SX Pro stereo-to-surround enhancement. Supported audio content formats include digital or analog live audio; mp3, wav, and playlist files; and Livewire audio over IP networks. Audio level monitoring is available via web browser. Clipping and silence detection, audio amplification and mp3 normalization make for a sophisticated audio management set-up.
Multimedia and Data Service Management

This system component supports all standardized as well as broadcaster-specific data applications. It includes data collection, import, merging, checking, conversion, processing, and broadcast encoding. The range of standardized DRM applications includes Text Messages (with UTF-8 encoding and control commands), Journaline® text information service, EPG, Slideshow, PRBS and TMC. Open interfaces enable the transmission of any customtailored and broadcaster-specific application at various protocol levels, including transparent file transmission via MOT, IP insertion, DRM data units, synchronous and asynchronous stream insertion, etc. Versatile data import interfaces and automation features allow for a smooth integration into production environments. This list of import features includes RSS import, ftp upload, ftp/http mirroring, web interface, UECP, and real-time socket interface, with optional secured data provision (ftps, https, etc.). DRM enhanced packet mode is supported*.
DRM Multiplex Generator

The multiplexer component manages the extensive DRM signaling capabilities and generates the full digital DRM multiplex. The standard MDI/DCP output signal is provided via IP uni-or multicast or RS-232 serial line. All signaling features of the DRM system specification are supported, including service labels with all worldwide used characters, country and time information, alternative frequency signaling with optional region and schedule information, all announcement types including traffic and warning/alert. The generated MDI/DCP output signal can be delivered to any number of DRM modulators at various transmitter sites in parallel with full SFN (single frequency network) support. The content of the output signal may be live monitored through the web interface. Recording of the MDI/DCP multiplex signal and each individual sub-channel to file is provided. An unlimited number of multiplex configurations can be defined in parallel. The automatic broadcast scheduling feature allows for manual or scheduled activation of multiplex configurations, and dynamic reconfigurations based on a global broadcast calendar and weekly schedules. To ensure safe and reliable operation, the DRM ContentServer R5 includes a professional system firewall and continuous self-monitoring. The system status is signaled through email report system, console output, web interface, relay card and SNMP.
